Jarrahdale
Jarrahdale is a historic timber town in the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale, around 45 kilometres southeast of Perth in the Darling Range. Founded in the 1870s when the Rockingham Jarrah Company began one of the state’s first major timber milling operations, Jarrahdale grew rapidly to become the fourth largest community in Western Australia by the late 1890s, behind only Perth, Bunbury, and Kalgoorlie. A devastating bushfire in 1895 destroyed the original locality, and the town was relocated to its current site. At its peak, 14 timber mills operated here over the following century, with the last closing in 1997. Jarrahdale Heritage Park, listed on the National Trust’s List of Classified Heritage Places since 1997, features walk trails through Gooralong Valley, historic mill sites, and the 1896 Old Post Office Museum. The heritage War Memorial and the Centenary Log, representing 100 years of logging, are among the townsite’s landmarks. Properties in Jarrahdale are typically older homes with character, and bathrooms in heritage-era and mid-century homes often have grout and silicone that has not seen professional restoration in decades. The Grout Guy services Jarrahdale with tile regrouting, leaking shower repair, silicone replacement, and tile and grout sealing. Fixed pricing. No tile removal. A 10-Year Waterproof Warranty on complete regrouts. Contact The Grout Guy today for a Jarrahdale quote.
