Koongamia
Koongamia is a small suburb in the City of Swan, around 21 kilometres east of Perth’s CBD on the edge of the Greenmount hills corridor. The name combines two Noongar words: “koong,” meaning hill, and “mia,” meaning home. Koongamia was formerly part of the Greenmount picnic reserve before the State Housing Commission subdivided the land for residential development in 1955 and 1956 as part of Perth’s post-war housing expansion. The suburb briefly had its own stop on the Perth metropolitan railway between 1960 and 1962, using a section of the former Mundaring Loop line that had been suspended since 1954. John Forrest National Park and the broader Greenmount hills bushland lie close by, giving the suburb easy access to hiking trails and natural scenery. With a compact residential population and most homes built through the 1950s in the State Housing Commission era, bathroom grout and silicone in Koongamia homes has had decades to deteriorate. The Grout Guy services Koongamia with tile regrouting, leaking shower repair, silicone replacement, and tile and grout sealing. Fixed pricing. No tile removal. A 10-Year Waterproof Warranty on complete regrouts. Get in touch today for a Koongamia quote.
