Balcatta
Balcatta is an established suburb within the City of Stirling, situated about 12 kilometres north of the Perth CBD. The suburb’s name was first recorded by Alexander Forrest in 1877 as the Aboriginal name for the northern portion of Careniup Swamp, derived from words meaning “his hill.” Before the 1960s, the land was predominantly used for market gardening. As suburban development took hold from the late 1960s, Balcatta became home to a strong multicultural community, particularly families of Italian, Greek, and Macedonian heritage. One of the suburb’s more distinctive features is the limestone pinnacles at Balcatta Senior High School, revealed when sand was excavated mid-century and now a recognised local landmark. According to Wikipedia, Balcatta is characterised by brick-and-tile homes, many reflecting a southern European influence in their design. Properties built from the 1960s through to the 1980s make up much of the suburb’s housing stock, and bathrooms from this era are now well overdue for specialist attention. Grout in showers of this age is typically cracked and porous, silicone joints have long since failed, and many showers are leaking through the base or corners without the homeowner being aware of the extent of the damage. The Grout Guy works across Balcatta and the City of Stirling, repairing these problems without pulling out a tile. The work is done from the surface, with no demolition and no renovation disruption. Pricing is fixed upfront and a complete shower regrout carries a 10-Year Waterproof Warranty. Call The Grout Guy for an obligation-free quote in Balcatta.
