Bentley
Bentley is a suburb shared between the City of Canning and the Town of Victoria Park, about 8 kilometres south-east of Perth’s CBD. The suburb takes its name from John Bentley, the warder in charge of a camp of convict labourers who were working to upgrade the Albany Road in the 19th century. In the 1940s, the State Housing Commission began residential development in Bentley, and over the following decades the suburb became home to schools, churches, and retail, including what was Western Australia’s first drive-in theatre, the Highway Drive-In, which opened in 1956. According to Wikipedia, Curtin University’s Bentley Campus, which grew from the WA Institute of Technology established in the 1960s, is one of the defining landmarks of the suburb today. Bentley Plaza has served the community since 1969. With a housing stock that spans from the post-war era through to more recent residential development, Bentley has a wide range of bathroom conditions. State housing from the 1940s to 1960s is now 60 to 80 years old, and bathrooms in homes of this age have typically outlasted their original grout and silicone many times over. Shower leaks in older properties are common and, if left unaddressed, lead to significant water damage to surrounding structures. The Grout Guy services Bentley and the southern suburbs, repairing leaking showers and regrouting tiled surfaces without removing a tile. Pricing is fixed upfront, and a complete shower regrout carries a 10-Year Waterproof Warranty. Call for an obligation-free quote in Bentley.
