Lockridge is a suburb in the City of Swan, around 12 kilometres northeast of Perth’s CBD. Land in the area was first granted to Edward Hamersley in 1837, and the suburb’s name derives from Lockeridge House, built by his son Samuel Hamersley in 1874. Part of the land later became Pyrton Estate, which the government developed for soldier settlement in the 1920s.
