Lockridge
Lockridge is a suburb in the City of Swan, around 12 kilometres northeast of Perth’s CBD. Land in the area was first granted to Edward Hamersley in 1837, and the suburb’s name derives from Lockeridge House, built by his son Samuel Hamersley in 1874. Part of the land later became Pyrton Estate, which the government developed for soldier settlement in the 1920s. In 1969, the State Housing Commission purchased approximately 97 hectares to build homes, establishing Lockridge as a predominantly public housing suburb. The suburb has significant Aboriginal heritage, with registered sites protected under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 reflecting its deep Noongar roots as part of the Mooro country. Rosher Park and Alice Davoren Community Centre, which supports senior residents and migrant services, are key community hubs. Kiara College and Lockridge Primary School serve the suburb’s educational needs. With much of Lockridge’s housing stock built through the 1970s and 1980s in the State Housing Commission era, bathroom grout and silicone in these homes has had decades to deteriorate. The Grout Guy services Lockridge with tile regrouting, leaking shower repair, silicone replacement, and tile and grout sealing. Fixed pricing. No tile removal. A 10-Year Waterproof Warranty on complete regrouts. Book a Lockridge quote today.
