Medina
Medina is a suburb in the City of Kwinana, following the local tradition of naming suburbs after ships: the vessel Medina arrived in the Swan River Colony on 6 July 1830. The name was formally approved in 1953. Medina carries a distinctive place in Perth’s planning history: it was designed in 1950 by Margaret Feilman, Perth’s first female town planner, as a model workers’ suburb intended to house employees at the new Kwinana industrial precinct. The thoughtful layout and amenity she created led to Medina being classified as a historic precinct by the National Trust of Western Australia in 2007, a recognition of its social and architectural significance. Chalk Hill, within the suburb, is an ancient Indigenous campsite with cultural significance to the Whadjuk Noongar people. Homes in Medina are predominantly from the 1950s and 1960s, and bathrooms of that vintage carry decades of accumulated grout staining, silicone breakdown, and in many cases water damage that has progressed silently behind tiles for years. The Grout Guy services Medina with tile regrouting, leaking shower repair, silicone replacement, and tile and grout sealing. Fixed pricing. No tile removal. A 10-Year Waterproof Warranty on full regrouts. Get in touch today for a Medina quote.
