North Beach
North Beach is a coastal suburb in the City of Stirling, around 15 kilometres north of Perth’s CBD. The name was first applied in 1888 when surveyor Charles Crossland referred to the coastal pastoral leases of Samuel Richard Hamersley as his “north beach coastal run,” and was formally approved as a suburb name in 1954. During the gold rush era, North Beach served as a quarantine station for camels being imported for service in the goldfields. Through the 1940s and 1950s the area became a popular holiday destination, with coastal shacks and holiday houses built by Perth families seeking a sea change. Permanent residential development took hold in the late 1950s and early 1960s, with the townsite gazetted in 1964. The Mount Flora Regional Museum, housed in a 1936 water tower at the suburb’s highest point, was converted to a museum and lookout in 1986 and offers views across the northern coastal corridor. Star Swamp Bushland Reserve and Charles Riley Memorial Reserve provide significant natural green space within the suburb. In coastal North Beach, salt air accelerates the deterioration of bathroom grout and silicone beyond what is typical in inland suburbs. The Grout Guy services North Beach with tile regrouting, leaking shower repair, silicone replacement, and tile and grout sealing. Fixed pricing. No tile removal. A 10-Year Waterproof Warranty on full regrouts. Book a North Beach quote today.
