Parkerville
Parkerville is a hills suburb in the Shire of Mundaring, around 35 kilometres east of Perth’s CBD, named after Stephen Henry Parker, a prominent Perth lawyer whose country home stood on land that would become the townsite. Parkerville was first opened for selection in June 1895 and was one of the earliest stations on the railway line between Bellevue and Mount Helena, opening for traffic in 1896. The suburb’s early economy was driven by quarrying, with blue-metal quarries supplying material for Perth’s street paving and making Parkerville one of the busiest centres in the hills during the early twentieth century. Between 1906 and 1925, bush railways run by Bunnings Brothers carried timber between Parkerville, Mount Helena, and the Toodyay Road network. The Parkerville Tavern, originally the Railway Hotel, opened in 1902 and was listed on Western Australia’s Heritage Register in 2016. Parkerville Children’s Home was established in 1903 at the site of an old sawmill and served families in need for generations. Jane Brook flows through the suburb on its way down the escarpment through John Forrest National Park. Properties in Parkerville are predominantly older homes on rural blocks, and bathrooms in these homes often carry grout and silicone that has never been professionally restored. The Grout Guy services Parkerville with tile regrouting, leaking shower repair, silicone replacement, and tile and grout sealing. Fixed pricing. No tile removal. A 10-Year Waterproof Warranty on full regrouts. Contact The Grout Guy today for a Parkerville quote.
