Stirling
Stirling is a suburban residential locality within the City of Stirling, about 10 kilometres north of Perth’s CBD along the Mitchell Freeway. The suburb takes its name from James Stirling, Western Australia’s first governor, who oversaw the establishment of the Swan River Colony from 1829 to 1838. Stirling separated from Balcatta in 1976 and has since developed into a clean, green and family-friendly suburb with strong community character. The housing stock reflects Southern European influences, with a notably high proportion of double-storey residences compared to surrounding suburbs. Stirling Civic Gardens on Cedric Street, opposite the City of Stirling administration building, provides a well-maintained park with walking paths, natural areas and a playground that families use throughout the year. Osborne Park Hospital, a 205-bed community hospital offering specialist services, radiology and pathology, is located within the suburb. Nearby Gwelup, Star Swamp and Herdsman Lake are registered Aboriginal Heritage Sites, reflecting the deep Nyoongar cultural significance of the lake chain that runs through this part of the city. With 58 hectares of public open space and good freeway access, Stirling is popular with established families. Older homes in Stirling, particularly those from the 1980s and earlier, commonly present with grout deterioration and leaking showers. The Grout Guy handles tile regrouting, leaking shower repairs, silicone replacement and tile and grout sealing. Complete regrouts include a 10-Year Waterproof Warranty.
